Hi! I’m Mathew Scheer, but please call me Matt. I’ve been a professional writer for six years, since I published my first novella, After Mask, in October 2018. Since then, I’ve written for an entertainment website as a freelance feature and list writer, but the work was unsatisfying and left me in a rut. I wasn’t sure what to do once that chapter of my life was over until I considered my background in retail sales. That’s when it occurred to me that I could find greater satisfaction as a copy and content writer.
Let’s face it, sometimes reaching the right customers, clients, or donors/supporters can be hard. Everyone’s already vying for everyone else’s attention these days. Organizations need to know their potential clientele and get through to them to succeed. It’s no longer enough to tout the superiority of your product or service; you need to let your customers know that what you have is what they need. And to do that, you need to understand them, and they need to know it. That’s where an excellent content marketer/copywriter comes in.
With two decades of sales experience, I know the ins and outs of explaining the benefits of a product and matching it with the needs of the customer. I also know a thing or three about overcoming objections. Crafting fiction has allowed me the opportunity to write in multiple voices while maintaining a focused narrative, and feature writing helped me learn SEO and how to address an audience’s interests and concerns. Most recently, however, I learned content marketing strategy thanks to Copy Blogger’s online course offered by UC Davis, where I learned all-new insights on copywriting and content creation.

Here on my blog, you’ll learn what I can do for your organization with well-crafted, engaging content that speaks to your prospects, clients, and customers. Check out my posts and sign up for my email list to see more.
